TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR HEALTH
Certainly in the UK and US we see hospitals and health care stretched and under pressure
because-
- They are catching up on pent up cases arising from “lock downs”
- Populations are ageing and therefore require more medical help
- The situation is exacberrated due to staff shortages, and in the UK, this has been made worse by the exodus of health professionals back yo Europe following Brexit
- Not only are Western societies ageing, they are also adopting unhealthy lifestyles by exercising less, and eating too much junk and processed food.
What can you do?
The message is clear, you cannot rely on the State to provide and care for you,
it is up to you, as much as possible, to take responsibility. Consider-
- Using private medical insurance. Expensive? Perhaps not, depending on your age and existing physical condition. You could fund any medical plans from your side-hustle or own business (see our blogs on this subject)
- Adopting, as much as you practically can, a balanced lifestyle in terms of diet, sleep, and exercise
- Consider natural supplements. Conduct your own research, but you will find vitamins C and D are very effective in boosting the immune system, together with zinc.
It is very clear that you need to rely on the old adage that “prevention is better than cure”.
