WAR WITH RUSSIA

At the time of writing this blog, in the preceding 10 days there have been public announcements in
the mainstream press that have signalled a coming war Russia. These were-

• Two Swedish MPs publicly stating that Sweden needs to prepare for war with Russia
• NATO officials publicly stating that they consider war with Russia likely in the near future. Interestingly, they also said it was not just a case of the Armed Forces being ready and prepared, but the general population needs to be aware, and prepared.
• A German assessment that war with Russia could start within three years
• Vladamir Putin made a speech in which he highlighted the (apparent) mistreatment of ethnic Russians living in the Baltic states. This was the same language witnessed before the invasion of Ukraine.

These messages were not hidden. In the UK, they were on the front pages of mainstream
newspapers. However, sadly to say, the actual headlines on the front pages of those papers were
centred on some irrelevant nonsense, whereas the warnings of the potential for war were tucked
away in the corner. As ever, the big majority of people reading those papers may read the warnings,
but will probably focus more on the nonsense content, and so will not be prepared for what may
happen in the slightest.
