Physical Strength & Fitness

The purpose of The Zeitgeist is to encourage, and help, people to be physically, emotionally, and financially strong in order to survive, and flourish, in the world we are in now.

To truly survive, and flourish, a holistic approach must be taken in order to be as well rounded an individual as possible.

There are countless books, gurus, and experts on diets and exercise. Whatever route you take, please bear in mind some maxims that have stood the test of time-

  • Regular exercise. It does not have to be intensive, and it can literally be anything, so long as it gets you moving, and it is regular.
  • Your diet needs to be balanced. Like anything in nature, if something is out of balance, it will fall over.

Whatever you do in terms of exercise and diet, it must be sustainable and flexible.

There is no point in signing up to a gym and crashing it for the first few months before realising the exercise schedule was not practical. Equally, there is no point in crash, or fad, diets, if they are dispensed with after a few months because they are impractical.

The choice of exercise and diet is down to the individual and their circumstances in terms of age, condition, the time available etc. The point is though, whatever you decide on, must be balanced, sustainable, and practical to do.

Self Defence

Please consider your approach to self defence in order to help protect yourself, your loved ones, and people who may need help and protection in a certain situation.

There are many types of martial arts and self defence systems.

Again, depending on your age, physical condition, time, and location, consider joining a club. If that is not possible, then try and at least read up on tactics and systems, so that if the worst was to happen, you would at least have some idea as to what to do.

The point is not for you to become a black belt in a martial art (although that would not be a bad thing!), it is to buy you some time to make good your exit from a situation as quickly as possible, and as unharmed as possible.
